The AI/Data Scientist role for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the design development and support of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems spanning the fields of Data Warehouse Design/Analytics, Generative AI, Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).  These systems will support all aspects of business from new product development, supply chain management, to customer facing applications.  The incumbent will participate on an innovative and collaborative team to deliver solutions.

This position is part of the technology team located in Brea, CA and will be hybrid. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Business Applications and report to the Digital Technologies team and be responsible for the design, delivery and support of Data and AI solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support the full lifecycle of AI and data solutions.

  • Collaborate both within our group and with multiple business units.

  • Design and develop solutions based in data based decision making.

  • Develop and Learn new technologies and techniques to apply data and AI to business facing problems.

  • Continuously support and improve solutions over time to meet changing business needs.

  • Maintain AI tool compliance requirements and regular quality performance related reporting at the needed cadence.  Lead root cause investigations and required counter measure implementations for any gaps.

  • Evaluate, prioritize, and deploy additional AI use cases within the existing capabilities as well as proposing new capabilities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field with 2+ years of experience OR a Master’s degree in related field with 0+ years of experience

  • Experience working within Beckman Coulter in internship role.

  • Appreciation cross functional skillsets in solving problems.

  • Excellent oral and written English language presentation & communications skills including effective utilization of MS Office and virtual collaboration tools such as MS Teams

  • Appreciation for inclusion, organizational agility and relationship building with impact driven success across all cultures, geographies, and levels in a virtual environment.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • FDA Regulated industry experience
