Anesthesia/Clin Supervisor- Anesthesiology- General- F/T, Day Shift Updated: Mar 29, 2024 Location: Orange Job Type: Department: Anesthesiology – General UC Title: ANES OR CLIN SUPP SUPV 1 Position Number: 40322540 Reports to: Nurse Services Manager 2 Working Title: Anesthesia/Clin Supp Svc Spv 1 Cost Center: Anesthesiology – General (427040) Bargaining Unit: No Bargaining Unit FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 7/24/2023 Job Code: 004141 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: Reporting to the OR Manager and/or Anesthesiologist, the Anesthesia Technician Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for oversight of the Anesthesia Technicians to include hiring, training and corrective action. In addition to leadership duties, will function as a technician maintaining, ordering, and stocking anesthesia supplies and equipment. Specific duties will include assisting the anesthesiologists with the placement of patient monitoring lines and difficult intubations, as well as any other invasive or noninvasive procedures as appropriate. The Tech provides first line equipment maintenance and calibrations, and is able to troubleshoot anesthesia monitoring equipment as required. Will work closely with Anesthesia, the OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering to ensure that all supplies and equipment are available, well maintained, and clean. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $35.39 Midpoint $49.71 Maximum $64.03 Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an Anesthesia Technology or similar clinical training program Must possess Anesthesia Technician Certification or an Associate of Science Degree in Anesthesia Technology A minimum of three years experience working as an Anesthesia Tech (or related) in fast paced OR environment Must possess prior experience in a leadership role Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator Knowledge of medical/surgical and anesthetic terminology Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or a fast paced OR environment The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure Availability to rotate shifts, take call and work weekends Ability to speak, read and follow directions in English Current BLS certification Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of medical computer software systems) Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
