Assistant/Associate Project Scientist Chiang Lab University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF11055 The Department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA is recruiting an experienced researcher to join the Chiang Lab as an Assistant or Associate Project Scientist. This appointment will be within the Division of Interventional Radiology. The position requires an MD and/or PhD degree and demonstrated track record conducting research in image-guided cancer therapies using modalities such fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT or MRI. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for co-supervising post-doctoral fellows and visiting graduate student researchers on the design, execution, and supervision of translational research studies involving interventional oncology. Responsibilities will include coordinating efforts from investigators and staff across multiple departments. Prior experience in some of: 1) basic science of immune metabolism relating to image-guided cancer therapy, 2) image-guided therapies using percutaneous or intravascular approaches, 3) working with rodent and large animal cancer models, 4) wet lab skills including cell culture, cell and tissue, 5) background experience with cancer epigenetics, with technical skills in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining, epigenetic techniques, western blot, and flow cytometry is required. Applicants should have excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience contributing to grant submissions and publishing manuscripts in high impact journals. The candidate should have a strong interest and commitment to research. Responsibilities: Research project management and data acquisition, developing and updating protocols and best practices, database maintenance, data analysis, preparation of research manuscripts, preparation of grant proposals, coordination with interdisciplinary team members, presenting at national and international meetings.
