Duties and Responsibilities:
- Constructs network infrastructure facilities to company standards and specifications at the direction of the Lead Network Deployment Technician.
- Understanding of Microwave links and alignments.
- Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems or issues
- Ability to build out closets and dress bundles of cables in closet, with direction of Lead
- Able to install racks/brackets, with direction of Lead
- Use a laptop/computer to Set up switching/routing hardware, install and configure
- Reviews, interpret and work with various cut sheets, drawings, blueprints and testing documents
- Able to install equipment with the instructions of the IP design sheet
- Constructing & setting antenna mounts.
- Proficient understanding of complex networks.
- understanding of complex networks.
- Mounting and cabling Microwave/Network Equipment.
- Accurately test copper cables to required certification
- Ability to terminate Cat3, Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A Structured Cable Distribution Systems
- Basic understanding of Fiber Optics.
- Installation of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
- Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
- Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
- Test, diagnose and correct copper problems
- Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks and patch panels
- Must be able to adhere to the On-Call Schedule
Skill and Knowledge Qualifications:
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Trade School is a plus
- Certifications preferred.
- Basic knowledge of DC power.
- Working knowledge of RF Industry standards.
- Experience
- Previous experience in a related or similar technical field. Telecom, construction, network service provided experience preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to drive to office and job sites
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Able to pass drug screening and background check
- Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures
- Ability to read, review, interpret and understand technical documents.
- Ability to work varying shifts and hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends, nights and holidays
- Working knowledge of using hand and power tools
- Ability to work respectively with others and work independently
- Ability to complete designated amount of work in a specified time frame (quality jobs per day), adjusting work assignments or schedules to meet changing work-related priorities or demands
- Ability to climb and work at elevations from (ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet
- Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, utility holes)
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 70 pounds
- Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)
