Qualifications 1-3 years In the field of early childhood education (Preferred) Ability to speak English to be understood by young children, staff and parents and as required for food preparation (Required) Ability to read English text of children’s stories (Required) Ability to use kitchen utensils and appliances safely and appropriately for preparation of meals (Preferred) Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding set-up and supervision of activities and preparation of food (Required) Ability to relate to children ages two months to six years old as required for supervision of indoor and outdoor activities, toileting, meals, snacks and nap time (Required) Ability to act quickly and appropriately in hazardous situations to prevent accidents and to provide first aid in emergency situations (Required) Ability to direct classroom staff in overall program in the absence of Lead and Assistant Lead teachers (Required) Ability to work cooperatively with other staff in total child care program (Required) Skill in resolving conflict with children and adults (Required) Physical ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds when necessary (frequent lifting) (Required) Certified in pediatric CPR and first aid (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation. Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment. Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
