Clinical Nurse II – Emergency Department – Full Time, Nights Updated: Mar 14, 2024 Location: Orange Job Type: Department: Emergency Department UC Title: CLIN NURSE 2 Position Number: 40308992 Reports to: Nurse Services Supervisor 2 Working Title: Clinical Nurse II Cost Center: Emergency Department (427231) Bargaining Unit: CNA FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 5/05/2022 Job Code: 009139 Hours: 36 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 0.9 Position Summary: The clinical nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients, ensuring the coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Will evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise plan or make referrals as necessary. Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC) Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $59.93 Midpoint $71.10 Maximum $82.27 Required Qualifications: Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 30 days of hire Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Minimum 6 months recent emergency room or Intensive Care Unit nursing work experience Licenses and Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support(Required) Basic Life Support(Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Supp(Required) Registered Nurse(Required) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science, Nursing Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements Prior ICU Nurse experience Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
