Clinical Pathways Specialist – Quality & Patient Safety – F/T Days Updated: Apr 4, 2024 Location: Anaheim Job Type: Department: Quality & Patient Safety UC Title: QLTY IMPV HC SPEC 4 Position Number: 40308252 Reports to: Clinical Excellence Manager Working Title: Clinical Pathways Spec Cost Center: Quality & Patient Safety (428728) Bargaining Unit: No Bargaining Unit FLSA: Exempt Date Created: 4/01/2024 Job Code: 006525 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: Incumbent applies extensive clinical knowledge and data analysis skills to develop and maintain clinical pathways and associated order sets. Oversees system-wide processes to standardize care for identified disease processes or surgical interventions. Collaborates with all disciplines across the health system to facilitate and support strategic plans, initiatives and goals Analyzes performance and financial data relating to clinical pathways and provides recommendations for improvement initiatives. Independently spearheads efforts to develop or enhance clinical pathways and regularly works on highly complex issues requiring in-depth analysis of both current and ideal states. Effectively identifies and incorporates current evidence-based practice recommendations into clinical pathways. Salary Range: Annual Rate Minimum $100,600.00 Midpoint $145,700.00 Maximum $190,800.00 Required Qualifications: Demonstrated success in applying critical thinking skills Ability to develop and implement programs and improve organizational performance Strong commitment to the values of the organization: Academic Achievement, Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence Excellent customer service skills Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organization Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite applications with emphasis on Excel and Viseo Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively. Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare discipline Minimum of 3 years of experience in the use of an electronic medical record Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare with an emphasis on relationship building with multiple health care disciplines Ability to successfully represent the UCI Health as required to the external community Demonstrated leadership skills and expertise required to facilitate development of clinical pathways and promote consensus between health care providers in the same service line and across disciplines Ability to strategically identify areas appropriate for clinical path development or pathway revision/updates, including consideration of updated best practices, community clinical needs and/or organizational business development aims Strong financial, analytical and planning skills to effectively evaluate standard of care initiatives Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Working knowledge of statistics Knowledge and experience using EPIC electronic health record Prior licensed clinical experience or expertise, such as RN, NP, foreign medical grad Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership experience Master’s Degree in a related field Proficiency using Tableau Working knowledge of CMS measures Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
