What will you be doing in this role: The Data Center Operations Technician is a key member of the team responsible for maintaining and managing the data center. They will be responsible for ensuring that the data center is always operating optimally and will play a key role in managing the infrastructure that powers our business. As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will be responsible for various tasks, including inventory and asset management, equipment and cabling installation, network port mapping, connectivity troubleshooting, shipping, and receiving, server patch management support and coordination, and level 1 incident triage support for server OS related issues (Linux and/or Windows). Manage work queue, inventory, assets, equipment, and cabling installations. Monitor health via interactive dashboards and analysis (Eyes on glass). Monitor and troubleshoot backups. Coordinate systems maintenance and notifications. Manage Data Center access and provide escort. Coordinate external vendor system access. Support server patch management and coordination. Coordinate shipping and receiving activities. Find opportunities for automation and analyze common incidents/requests. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. Bonus: Configure network switches and storage. Qualifications Experience Requirements: Three (3)+ years of experience in cabling, equipment installation, and server administration. Solid grasp with data center equipment and operations. (Server OS, VMware, Storage, Network Infrastructure, Backup systems Knowledge of network port mapping and connectivity troubleshooting. Ability to provide level 1 incident triage support for server OS related issues (Linux and/or Windows). Ability to configure network switches and storage a plus. Proficiency using Office 365 applications including Word & Excel ?? Educational/Certification Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
