responsibilities:
- Create and Implement Designs: Develop effective design solutions for products (such as galleys, closets, and overhead bins) while adhering to budgets, schedules, and performance targets like cost, volume, and weight.
- Develop 3D and 2D Models: Utilize CATIA and AutoCAD to create and verify 3D models and 2D drawings of individual components, sub-assemblies, and complex kinematic assemblies.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, stress engineering, and program management to ensure designs meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and schedules.
- Optimize for Manufacturing: Ensure all designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly by actively soliciting feedback from fabricators, operators, and quality assurance teams.
- Create and Present Proposals: Research customer and regulatory criteria to develop design proposals and present the benefits and rationale to internal disciplines and customers.
