Dietitian II – Culinary & Nutrition Services- F/T Day Shift Updated: Mar 6, 2024 Location: Orange Job Type: Department: Culinary & Nutrition Services UC Title: DIETITIAN 2 Position Number: 40319831 Reports to: Temp Agency Staff-Non UC Working Title: Dietitian II Cost Center: Culinary & Nutrition Services (428340) Bargaining Unit: UPTE FLSA: Exempt Date Created: 12/21/2019 Job Code: 005426 Hours: 40 Shift: Day Shift FTE: 1 Position Summary: Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Dietitian II is responsible for formulating, documenting and implementing nutrition care plans. Duties include conducting and documenting assessments, reassessments, consults, calorie counts, and Nitrogen balances. Assists in the development and revision of hospital Nutrition policies and procedures. participates in patient conferences and unit rounds. monitors for potential drug nutrient interactions and provides nutrition education and counseling for patients and families. Participates in process improvement and special projects, such as Nursing & Medical Student/Resident Inservices, support group meetings, and patient education classes for the community. Will attend interdisciplinary hospital committee meetings as assigned. Oversees the daily activities diet office and patient services staff as needed. If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0-21, CCS paneling / approval will be required within 1 year of hire qualified for CCS paneling. Attends discharge planning meetings for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline. Non CCS paneled dietitians will be supervised by the CCS paneled dietitian for the care provided to children aged 0-21. Salary Range: Annual Rate Minimum $83,478.24 Midpoint $102,583.44 Maximum $121,667.76 Required Qualifications: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Understanding of medical terminology Demonstrated understanding of therapeutic and normal nutrition, with the ability to develop care plans for patients Willingness and availability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed or requested Minimum two years experience as an R.D. in a healthcare/clinical environment Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Must possess either a graduate degree or advanced certification in a Nutrition related field Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
