Description
UCLA Health is seeking a Director of Social Content and Community to lead the strategy, vision, and dayâtoâday operations of our social media presence. In this role, you will guide a small but highâperforming team, strengthen our brand across major platforms, and help shape how millions of people experience UCLA Health through our social media channels.
What You’ll Do
* Set the strategic direction for UCLA Health’s social media channels across Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and more.
* Manage and mentor a talented social media team, providing daily guidance and supporting their continued growth.
* Envision the culture needed to mentor, shape and build a build a bestâinâclass inâhouse social media support team.
* Roll up your sleeves when needed-contributing directly to projects to ensure team and organizational success.
* Ensure all content strengthens institutional reputation, builds emotional connection, and reflects UCLA Health’s brand pillars and strategic goals.
* Collaborate closely with creatives to align storytelling, visuals, and formats with brand standards.
* Oversee social media strategy for both UCLA Health and the David Geffen School of Medicine, ensuring a unified identity and voice across all channels.
* Lead community management efforts to both grow engaged followers and fans and respond effectively to emerging issues or crises.
* Partner with Communications leadership to manage risk, ensure accuracy and safety, and protect the institution’s reputation.
* Establish workflows, systems, and collaborative practices that support immediate needs and longâterm organizational growth.
* Engage stakeholders with clarity, diplomacy, and a problemâsolving mindset.

Salary Range: $95,400 – 208,300/annually
Qualifications
We are seeking an innovative leader with:
- Proven leadership experience guiding, mentoring, and developing creative or strategic teams.
- Ability to envision and build a bestâinâclass inâhouse social media support team, including shaping team culture and operational excellence.
- Strong background in social media strategy across major platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Experience managing social media communities to grow engaged followers and fans, while also navigating crises and highâstakes situations.
- Ability to manage risk across social channels, including issue identification, escalation, response coordination, and reputation protection.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee workflows, operations, and processes that support large, complex organizations.
- Strong collaboration skills with creative teams to ensure stories, visuals, and formats align with brand standards.
- Experience maintaining a unified brand voice across multiple channels and audience segments.
- Skilled in building systems, operational frameworks, and communityâmanagement standards that support both immediate needs and longâterm growth.
- Diplomatic and clear communicator, able to manage stakeholder expectations and build strong crossâdepartment relationships.
