Description
Join our team as an Entry-Level Bridge Construction Worker and begin a career building and maintaining critical infrastructure projects across highways, rail systems, and transportation networks. You’ll work alongside experienced construction crews to assist with bridge assembly, concrete work, steel installation, structural repairs, and heavy construction activities in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
Construction and Installation:
· Assist with bridge construction, structural repairs, concrete placement, and steel assembly projects.
· Load, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment on active job sites.
· Operate hand tools, power tools, jackhammers, saws, compactors, and construction equipment safely.
· Support crews with formwork, rebar installation, concrete pouring, and structural assembly.
· Assist with demolition, excavation, and site preparation activities as needed.
· Help maintain bridges, overpasses, retaining walls, and transportation infrastructure systems.
Safety and Compliance:
· Attend daily safety meetings and follow OSHA and construction site safety procedures.
· Wear required PPE including hard hats, harnesses, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
· Follow fall protection, confined space, traffic control, and heavy equipment safety procedures.
· Maintain clean and organized work zones to support safe operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Track materials used and assist with inventory organization.
· Report safety concerns, damaged equipment, or structural issues promptly.
· Assist supervisors with project progress updates and daily work reporting.
Work Environment and Expectations
This position requires physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions and may involve working at elevated heights, near traffic, over water, or around heavy machinery. Employees must be comfortable lifting heavy materials, climbing scaffolding, and working long hours on active infrastructure projects. Travel and overtime may be required depending on project locations and schedules.
Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
· Comfortable working outdoors and at elevated heights.
· Ability to work around heavy machinery and active traffic zones.
· Willingness to learn bridge construction methods and safety procedures.
· Must pass a drug and background check.
Job Type: Full-time; Benefits: Health insurance, paid apprenticeship training, overtime opportunities, travel pay, per diem opportunities, retirement plans, and advancement into skilled industrial trades; Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime, shutdown schedules, travel assignments, nights, and weekends as required.
