Description
Join our team as an Entry-Level Industrial Painter and begin your career in industrial coatings, surface preparation, and protective finishing. You’ll work alongside experienced painters and coating specialists to prepare, clean, paint, and protect industrial equipment, structures, pipelines, tanks, and facilities in construction, manufacturing, marine, refinery, and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation and Painting:
· Assist with surface preparation including sanding, grinding, pressure washing, scraping, masking, and abrasive blasting.
· Load, transport, and organize painting materials, coatings, tools, and equipment on job sites.
· Operate hand tools, spray guns, pressure washers, grinders, and painting equipment safely.
· Support industrial painters during coating applications on steel structures, tanks, pipelines, equipment, and industrial facilities.
· Mix paints, primers, epoxies, and industrial coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
· Assist with cleanup, maintenance, and storage of painting equipment and materials.
Safety and Compliance:
· Attend daily safety meetings and follow OSHA and industrial site safety procedures.
· Wear required PPE including respirators, gloves, coveralls, eye protection, harnesses, and hard hats.
· Follow confined space, fall protection, chemical handling, and hazardous material safety procedures.
· Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure safe operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Track materials, coatings, and equipment usage during projects.
· Report safety concerns, damaged equipment, or environmental hazards promptly.
· Assist supervisors with inspection reports and daily work documentation.
Work Environment and Expectations
This position requires physically demanding work in industrial environments including construction sites, refineries, shipyards, manufacturing facilities, bridges, and power plants. Work may involve climbing, confined spaces, elevated platforms, outdoor weather exposure, and handling industrial coatings and chemicals. Travel, overtime, and shutdown schedules may be required.
Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
· Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in industrial environments.
· Ability to wear respirators and protective equipment for extended periods.
· Willingness to learn industrial painting and coating techniques.
· Must pass a drug and background check.
Job Type: Full-time; Benefits: Health insurance, paid apprenticeship training, overtime opportunities, travel pay, per diem opportunities, retirement plans, and advancement into skilled industrial trades; Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime, shutdown schedules, travel assignments, nights, and weekends as required.
