What you will be doing

Supervises daily maintenance and sanitation activities using the most efficient and economical ways of maintaining the equipment, minimizing down time and keeping warehouse operations running efficiently.

What we are searching for

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the maintenance and sanitation departments to ensure that planned maintenance and sanitation procedures are being performed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Creates, monitors, generates, verifies and closes planned maintenance and job tasks using the computerized maintenance program
  • Verifies work orders to ensure that they are properly prepared and that correct inventory procedures are followed
  • Oversee the purchase of parts, tools and materials for maintenance and sanitation purposes as required
  • Conduct department and facility safety surveys and assign work orders and personnel to correct deficiencies
  • Respond to and investigate accidents, near miss situations, and equipment and facility integrity issues
  • Oversee grounds sanitation and maintenance to include landscape and pavement
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and facility system symptoms
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory, management or lead person role
  • 5-7 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of material handling equipment, conveyors, forklifts, sweepers/scrubbers, auto storage and retrieval systems
  • High school degree required. College or trade school degree desirable and/or equivalent work experience in areas of refrigeration and electrical maintenance required. Thorough knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
  • Strong administrative skills to include Computer skills. Working knowledge of the computerized maintenance program to document and schedule all maintenance tasks and inventories. (Microsoft (Excel, Word, Access), Maximo, etc.)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment with high awareness of safety
  • Available to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Most work is performed in typical warehouse conditions. During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between -20 degrees to 70 degrees
  • Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas
  • May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent will use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of the workday

The salary range is $69,600 – $90,480annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
