Decision Support HC Analyst 4 – Decision Support – F/T Days, (HYBRID) Updated: Nov 10, 2023 Location: Anaheim Job Type: Department: Decision Support UC Title: DECISION SUPP SPEC 4 Position Number: 40323069 Reports to: Asst Dir, DSS & Fin Planning Working Title: Decision Support HC Analyst 4 Cost Center: Decision Support (428515) Bargaining Unit: No Bargaining Unit FLSA: Exempt Date Created: 4/22/2022 Job Code: 005747 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for the provision of patient-level financial and clinical data and analysis to inform and partner with the medical center/assigned service line for financial and strategic decision making. Responsible for development of benchmarking, productivity metrics and service line analysis and data extract. Creates and presents market, financial, utilization and additional reports for service lines. Develops information and modeling to create effective recommendations to supervision/management. Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses and capital expenditures. Prepares proformas for the effective analysis of new proposals or initiatives. Works with assigned service line to review internal and external trend analyses and effectively identify corrective measures as needed. Provides for the measurement and benchmarking of business operations in relation to best business practices for the healthcare industry and internal business objectives. Salary Range: Annual Rate Minimum $90,500.00 Midpoint $130,100.00 Maximum $169,700.00 Required Qualifications: Demonstrated advanced level of analytical skill Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to anticipate questions and address information needs by providing comprehensive analyses Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word Must possess general knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies (per diem, per case, capitation, indemnity, etc) 5 years of experience in a hospital based environment working with general ledger and cost data as well as service line and payor analysis Demonstrated knowledge of Decision Support Systems and subsystems Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff and senior management Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in business administration, health administration, CPA, or other relevant degree program Previous experience in an academic medical center or complex teaching environment Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
