USC Department of Medicine is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Finance team and will perform regular financial reporting and analysis; extracts and evaluates data from multiple University financial systems; performs analysis to assist in business financial planning and budgeting; monitors receivables from University affiliated departments and other contracted vendors; coordinates purchases and reimbursements; other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with outstanding computer skills particularly in Microsoft Excel functions, such as Vlookups, Pivot Tables, and IF Statements. Also, the candidate should have excellent organizational skills, be attentive to detail, and able to work independently. The specific accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to : Assist with monitoring financial activity including budgets, reconciling accounts , and month/year-end process management. Evaluates and analyzes financial data; produces regular and ad-hoc and regular monthly financial reports and reviews for accuracy prior to distribution. Prepares, processes and/or reviews paperwork, e.g., department orders, check requests, requisitions and other budget and business forms. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Preferred Skills and Experience Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelors degree with at least 3-5 years of financial analysis experience and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel (pivot tables and charts, formulas, data validation), Access (creating tables, relationships/joining, queries, forms and reports), and PowerPoint. Other skills include: 3 years relevant work experience Proficient in Excel Experience working with Workday financials The hourly rate range for this position is $34.79 -$35.00 When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
