Histotechnologist III- Surgical Pathology- FT Variable Shift Updated: Mar 1, 2024 Location: Orange Job Type: Department: Surgical Pathology UC Title: HISTO TCHNO 3 Position Number: 40324455 Reports to: Clinical Laboratory Supv 2 Working Title: Histotechnologist III Cost Center: Surgical Pathology (427072) Bargaining Unit: AFSCME FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 1/07/2024 Job Code: 009067 Hours: 40 Shift: Variable Shift FTE: 1 Position Summary: Reporting to the Histology Supervisor, incumbents prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. Incumbent will embed and cut sections, stain and mount on a slide of surgical, neurological, bone marrow, and autopsy tissue sections so that the presence or absence of disease may be effectively demonstrated to the Pathologist. Might prepare solutions and perform special stain techniques in addition to immunoperoxidase and immunofluorescence procedures. Maintains laboratory inventory and equipment, and keeps Quality Control records of work performed.
