Hospital Lab Technician III- ACC-Irvine Operating Room- P/T, Day Shift Updated: Mar 6, 2024 Location: Irvine Job Type: Department: ACC – Irvine Operating Room UC Title: HOSP LAB TCHN 3 Position Number: 41056137 Reports to: Nurse Services Manager 2 Working Title: Hospital Lab Technician III Cost Center: ACC – Irvine Operating Room (427044) Bargaining Unit: AFSCME FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 1/05/2024 Job Code: 008974 Hours: 24 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 0.6 Position Summary: Incumbent will manage equipment inventory for a specific shift in the Main OR to ensure that the proper equipment is available, functioning properly, and ready for use when needed. Acts as the technical expert for all equipment needs, as well as performing equipment maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair. Will provide inservice to staff on the usage of new equipment as needed. Will trend and track usage in the department, and works closely with the OR team to determine equipment needs. May assist in the operation of equipment during surgery under the direction of the qualified medical practitioner. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $31.26 Midpoint $35.08 Maximum $38.89 Required Qualifications: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology Must be able to perform basic analysis to determine the benefit and value of purchasing options Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Demonstrated experience working in a healthcare setting Successful completion of training in surgical technology, Clinical Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support(Required) Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
