Job Summary
This position provides customer service in regards to transitioning and implementing waste, organics, manure and recycling services in the City of Los Angeles (LA) in the West Valley and South East Valley zones. Emphasis will be on providing customer service, handling service issues, working with internal departments within WM and assisting with payments along with other financial tasks. Representatives filling this position will serve as a company representative in the City of LA West Valley and Southeast Valley zones.
Schedule: West Hills storefront location – 8:00AM to 5:00PM M-F, and Saturdays 8AM to 12PM (rotate every other Saturday) 12-1pm lunch. Will work one week in office and one week remote. rotating with other storefront representative.
What you’ll do:
- Data research, including proof of service, liquidated damages, and running daily reports
- Assist customers in making payments as needed
- Time management with the ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Upkeep of office area, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
What you’ll have:
- High school diploma or GED (accredited)
- 1 year of work experience that includes aspects of customer service and interaction (in addition to education requirement)
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
- Utilization of Salesforce, MAS, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), 3rd Eye, OPUS
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. - Fully understand the rate structure of the City of LA contract to assist customers and answer any questions or concerns. Knowledge of conducting site surveys and waste audits to determine trash, organics, manure and recycling service levels and making recommendations on size and location of bins.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of contract obligations, included but not limited to pricing, diversion, reporting and operations.
- Creates, distributes, and closes-out customer tickets daily.
- Assists with the processing of payments, including but not limited to cash, checks and credit cards, and perform other financial tasks as necessary.
- Communicates with customers about service issues and works with internal departments for resolution.
- Uses Waste Management programs and software tools to manage a variety of tasks, such as price and service changes, ticket requests, set up accounts, run reports, tracking and various other needed assignments.
- Utilizes effective listening and communication skills to identify problems, needs, and opportunities
- Regular evening and weekend work hours may be required
- Additional duties as necessary

- Education: High school diploma or GED (accredited)

The expected base pay for this hybrid position is $23.00/hr. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
