Description
The Department of Medicine is seeking a Lab Assistant to support daily operations in a research laboratory under the supervision of the lab manager and senior personnel. In this role, you will help maintain and track an online mouse colony, assist with ordering and organizing laboratory supplies and reagents, and support compliance activities related to animal research protocols. You will play an important part in keeping the lab running smoothly and ensuring accurate documentation and workflow.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with genotyping and animal breeding, as well as supporting basic molecular and cellâculture experiments such as gel electrophoresis and organ harvest preparation. This position is ideal for someone detailâoriented, reliable, and eager to gain handsâon experience in laboratory research and animalâbased studies.
Hourly range: $25.75-$30.17Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to take specific laboratory directions
- Knowledge of basic laboratory safety, protocol and animal handling
- Experience Assisting with routine laboratory experimentation
- Skill in working with basic laboratory equipment
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry
