Description

The Lab Asst. II will be conducting behavioral training experiments, brain sectioning and histology, and brain imaging data collection with mice. S/he will be responsible for data collection, for scheduling undergraduate students to run the same experiments, and to perform general laboratory duties, including the generating of spreadsheet data summaries in Excel. S/he will also be required to take part in lab and center meetings each week. A Bachelor of Science degree in biological or equivalent or related fields is required. Experience handling mice is required.

Hourly salary range: 27.54 – 33.13

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor of Science degree in biological or equivalent or related fields

Mouse handling and some experience with basic behavioral tasks

Good PC Skills, with ideally some knowledge of python, R or Matlab

Strong organizational skills and flexibility in responding to changing priorities

Excellent verbal and written English skills

Ability to work independently after training and some continued supervision.

Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with and sustain cooperative working relationships with undergraduate students and lab scientists

Ability to learn rapidly and follow through tasks with details

Flexibility in working hours when needed
