Job Summary The Laboratory Technician will support a variety of research projects by preparing rock samples for whole-rock chemistry measurements, as well as collecting and processing data. Essential Job Duties Precision weighing of samples and reagents. Maintenance of traceable logbook of samples. Laboratory housekeeping to avoid sample contamination. Operation of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, loss-on-ignition oven, and flux-melting machine. Operation of hydraulic press and laser-ablation mass spectrometer. Data curation. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Geological Science or related field.
