Description
Reporting to the Chief
Administrative Officer (CAO) who functions as the Director of Operations for
the Department
of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Responsible
for a wide range of functions, with varying levels of direction received, for a
remarkable, research
intensive, Academic Unit/Division/Department.
Responsible
for ensuring the successful and efficient operation of this complex academic
Department, the strength
of its business functions as outlined by the CAO. The Department has an annual
budget of $61.9M,
including $65M in revenue from clinical services and $2.8M in revenue from
sponsored projects. The
Department manages 143 staff members, 62 clinical and research faculty members,
and residents and fellows engaged in clinical and research training.
Annual
salary range: 108,900.00 – 241,500.00. The department’s target salary range is 170,000.00
– 190,000.00
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s
degree (BA, Health Care Administration, Public health or related field) or equivalent
combination of education and relevant experience - Minimum
of five years Healthcare leadership experience along with an understanding of clinical,
research and education operations. - Demonstrated
strategic leadership, planning and change management skills in a highly matrixed
environment, preferably a research-intensive medical school/health system - Ability
to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy in persuading and influencing a wide variety
of people at various levels to achieve results - Demonstrated
ability to identify and analyze all pertinent information/data to make and communicate
executive level recommendations and decisions - Exceptional
negotiation and effective interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated
ability to establish a culture of integrity and accountability. - Advanced
expertise in financial planning and analysis and decision support as it pertains
to academic health care, research and higher education. - Demonstrated
skills as a receptive listener, influential and persuasive and seeks to understand
the differing sides of each situation. Makes decisions effectively and decisively - Strong
knowledge of industry standards, trends and regulatory requirements. - Advanced
expertise using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
database management and timekeeping software. - Ability
to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Master’s
Degree (Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public health or related
field) - Knowledge
of academic and/or administrative structure of institutions of higher education.
