Patient Access Services Supv 1 – Tustin Multi-Specialty – FT Days Updated: Apr 1, 2024 Location: Orange Job Type: Department: Tustin Multi-Specialty Job Description: UC Title: PAT ACCESS SVC SUPV 1 Position Number: 41079012 Reports to: Ambulatory Care Admin Mgr 1 Working Title: Patient Access Services Supv 1 Cost Center: Tustin Multi-Specialty (427757) Bargaining Unit: No Bargaining Unit FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 3/26/2024 Job Code: 004591 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for the administration, development and staffing of the clinic’s registration/reception. In conjunction with clinic manager, incumbent is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations ensuring alignment with UCI policies and procedures. Responsible for the training, orientation and in-services for front office staff. Monitors and directs the collection of productivity and other statistical information. Responsible for coordinating payroll, computer training, quality assurance and human resources issues for staff. Provides oversight for authorization and surgery scheduling and is able to provide additional help as needed. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $29.26 Midpoint $40.28 Maximum $51.29 Required Qualifications: Ability to act independently to solve problems and develop recommendations for approval Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple activities and varied deadlines Ability to travel to off-site clinics Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Demonstrated leadership skills to supervise and motivate staff Minimum one (1) year recent experience (within past two (2) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billing Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Demonstrated experience and thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database applications Demonstrated ability to interpret health plan benefit packages and make benefit determinations Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Joint Commission requirements Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT / HCPCS Medical Coding Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese Strong knowledge of UCI and outside payor authorization and scheduling policies and processes Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
