Per Diem Pharmacist – ACC Infusion Center Pharm – PD/Day Updated: Jan 31, 2024 Location: Irvine Job Type: Department: ACC – Irv Pharmacy Infusion UC Title: PHARMACIST PD Position Number: 41061063 Reports to: Pharmacy Manager 4 Working Title: Per Diem Pharmacist Cost Center: ACC – Irv Pharmacy Infusion (427167) Bargaining Unit: UPTE FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 1/29/2024 Job Code: 009249 Hours: 12 Shift: Per Diem/Days FTE: 0.3 Position Summary: This pharmacist performs the day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, verifies drug doses for appropriateness, and processes sterile and non-sterile prescription orders.. The incumbent performs therapeutic intervention as needed, provides drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, maintains patient profiles, , conducts drug therapy monitoring, and performs and supports drug compounding, and all aspects of medication management. The Staff Pharmacist is also responsible for directing technicians, performing inventory control, and actively precepting pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as assigned by the supervisor. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in the Pharmacy Policy. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $89.91 Midpoint $89.91 Maximum $89.91 Required Qualifications: Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed, as well as to travel to off site locations as required One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position Current BLS or ACLS certification Must demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills appropriate to the job Ability to perform routine tasks such as working, storing, preparing, receiving, unpacking, transporting, disposing of, or administering drugs that have been identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in accordance with USP 800. Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing Working knowledge of sterile compounding, USP797/800, and non-sterile compounding, USP795 Preferred Qualifications: Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties Previous experience in Inpatient Pharmacy Previous experience in an Ambulatory Infusion Center setting Previous experience in Oncology Pharmacy setting Successful completion of PGY1 General Practice Residency and/or PGY2 Oncology Residency Knowledge and experience using EPIC electronic health record Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
