Located in the state-of-the-art, eco-friendly Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion is the Anesthesia Pre-Procedure Evaluation Center (APEC). APEC is part of the Operating Room/Anesthesia/Surgery Services and offers a convenient location for patients? pre-procedure needs. Services include phlebotomy, electrocardiograms (EKGs), pre-procedure health screening by nurses with special expertise in surgery and anesthesia and an assessment for high-risk patients by an anesthesiologist. Qualifications Education Assoc. Degree/College Diploma – minimum Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (state accredited program) – preferred Experience 1 year For external hires, acute care experience in their specialty for new hires. Promotion to Clinical Nurse II is automatic after completion of one (1) year of clinical experience and a satisfactory performance appraisal at a Clinical Nurse I level. – minimum Licenses and Certifications RN State License – Upon Hire minimum California State RN License Basic Life Support (BLS) – Upon Hire minimum BLS Certification. As required by your specialty unit. Other – See Department Specifics – 1 Year minimum Other Competencies, as required by your specialty unit (ex. ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring) ANCC Specialty Certification – preferred Any ANCC Specialty Certification strongly recommended after 2 years in specialty
