As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will complete routine foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents while supporting guests, tenants, and teams with clear communication. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and assist with service-focused interactions. What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail mall location.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, corridors, entrances, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or operational concerns.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, escalated disputes, lost children, and policy violations, while coordinating with site leadership and local responders as needed.
- Monitor access points and observe activity for suspicious behavior, support crowd and/or traffic flow during peak shopping periods and special events, and assist with store and mall opening and closing procedures when assigned.
- Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
