Security Officer Government Building

As a Security Officer Government Building Access control in Costa Mesa, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a dynamic location, helping to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and routine patrols. Position Type: Full Time / Mix Shift – Swing Shift & Day Shift

Pay Rate: $24.50 / Hour

Day Time Mon 01:00 PM – 09:30 PM Tue 01:00 PM – 09:30 PM Sat 05:00 AM – 01:30 PM Sun 05:00 AM – 01:30 PM
What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and support visitor and delivery processing in accordance with site protocols and Allied Universal standards.
• Communicate clearly with personnel, first responders, and/or management regarding incidents, maintenance concerns, and other security-related matters that could affect site operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
