MILITARY VETERANS

As a Security Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring the protection of Metropolitan assets, employees, and visitors primarily within Metropolitan’s Headquarters and the Pure Water facility located at the Los Angeles County Sanitation District’s Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in the city of Carson. You will be relied upon as a subject matter expert in the security disciplines of physical security, investigations, and loss prevention. You will lead regular, temporary, and contract security workers at various facilities as you coordinate and review work assignments on a day-to-day basis.

In this position you will be required to demonstrate your capability to respond to pressing and demanding situations; exercise good judgment; serve as the agent on call for 24 hours (standby duty) on a rotational basis; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and exercise good judgment under demanding situations.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and ten years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and eight years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience.
 

Relevant Experience is defined as: working experience performing investigations or working as professional security, law enforcement or in a directly related area.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s)

  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification (required at time of application)
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
  • State licensing as a Private Investigator

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Concealed Carry Weapon License (CCW)
