The Service Shop Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations, building maintenance, and overall management of the service center’s shop in Romeoville, IL. This position oversees the workflow within the service center, ensures efficient use of resources, and manages the team of technicians, ensuring top-quality service is delivered to customers.

  • Supervise all shop functions, ensuring optimal workflow and efficiency.
  • Direct management of service center technicians, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and goal setting.
  • Manage building maintenance and the upkeep of service vehicles.
  • Plan and schedule projects to optimize resource allocation (materials, equipment, and labor).
  • Diagnose and repair equipment as needed, while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Provide training on safe equipment operations for team members and customers.
  • Act as a communication link between the company and customers to ensure high-quality service.
  • Manage inventory control and ensure proper maintenance of shop tools and equipment.
  • Address customer relations and resolve service-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Generate substantial revenue through effective service program sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and job-specific training requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of related experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic internet navigation.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience, with a focus on field support.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • High school diploma/GED with industry-related experience (college degree preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced electrical and mechanical understanding.
  • Familiarity with test equipment and the ability to read schematics.
  • Experience with ERP/SAP systems.
  • College degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of 5S or Lean methodologies for process improvement and efficiency
