Qualifications Educational Requirements: High School Diploma/GED Required Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technicians License/Certification Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC) Required Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred. Experience: 3 years of experience as a Special Tech performing technical duties and assisting with procedures or 3 years of equivalent on the job training performing technical duties and assisting with procedures.
