Senior Systems Engineer / SME
LOCATION: El Segundo, CA
JOB STATUS: Full-time
SALARY: $220,000 to $260,000

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer/Integration SME to support systems engineering and integration of Space Force projects for the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO) on a variety of tasks and projects located at the El Segundo, CA.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Master’s Degree in a related field such as Engineering, Mathematics or related technical field.
- 20 years of industry, federal government experience, or SETA/FFRDC supporting federal government acquisition.
- Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI level clearance.
- Degree in a technical field related to space operations, ground systems, space domain awareness, data, data transport, communications.
- For Command-and-Control Technical Agent support, should have direct operational experience or have directly supported operational units in previous work. Position will support JTF-SD and CFSCC. Knowledge of operational command and control is vital. Space Domain Awareness skills and experience is desired.
- Experience with NRO and/or other mission partners is desired.
- Experience with classified and SAP work is desired.
- For Ground Systems or Data Transport Technical Agent support, should have broad range of experience in and across the space community (e.g., space operations, ground systems, space domain awareness, communications and data transport, etc.).
- Project Leadership experience.
- Must be able to perform all duties independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Knowledge and background in Space Systems is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expertise to space strategy, architecture, and hardware design for Enterprise resilience and space sensing technology integration
- Develop, analyze and assess integration strategy for protect and defend mission in support of the Increment Technical Teams
- Evaluate and assess future space and missile Systems of Systems (SoS) and Families of Systems (FoS) at the cross- enterprise level, linking materiel solutions to warfighter capability needs in new combinations.
- Provide cross-enterprise architecting analysis, engineering best practices, and enterprise level integration to providing highly integrated space enterprise capabilities to the warfighter and rapid decision quality support for key modernization or recapitalization decisions.
- Create and synchronize the enterprise system-of-systems policy and digital engineering framework to support Space Systems Command mission across multiple space programs.
- Provide support to the Technical Agents for Command and Control, Ground Systems, and/or Data Transport
- Support Project Lead(s) in planning, execution, management, reporting, and completion of assigned projects
- Develop and maintain foundational project documentation (ie, charter, problem definition, project plan)
- Maintain project management and reporting tools, to include schedule, OKR tracking, and PMR charts
- Conduct project task decomposition, manage task allocation via RACI matrix or giver-receiver, and track completion status
- Develop project technical documents, to include systems engineering artifacts, written communications, and briefings
- Manage storage of project artifacts within Global Mission Operations Information Management Architecture
