Growing and dynamic Charter School is looking to hire (10) Teacher/Teacher Aide’s to work in various departments on campus.
**Previous experience working at a school (elementary, junior high, high shcool or college level) is required**
REQUIREMENTS:
-Must be fully vaccinated and provide proof
-Must be okay with having a TB test administered once hired
-Must be able to pass a state background check
QUALIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma or equivalent; BA or some college preferred
-A strong background in and command of academic content
-Demonstrated success working with students in traditionally underserved communities
-Interest in becoming a credentialed teacher preferred but not required
DUTIES:
-Seek opportunities, both individually and through school-based initiatives, to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, and scholars
-Actively engage in School and externally provided professional development
-Prepare for and attend up to five (5) evening scholar, parent or other school events that do not exceed more than three (3) hours per event, including
-Report Card Nights, Open House, Scholar Exhibitions, etc.
-Serve actively on at least one (1) School established action committee during the school year
-Develop and maintain a positive, achievement-oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn.
-Effectively execute assigned curriculum to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency.
-Establish regular monitoring routines to check for scholar understanding throughout the lesson
-Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies
-Provide supervision as assigned to maintain student safety
-Welcome and incorporate feedback from the coaching, guidance and feedback provided by school leaders, peer coaches and content support managers
-Assist in carrying out lesson plans in the event of a teacher’s absence
-Assist with direct academic, functional and/or specifically designed instructional or physical activities
-Under the direction of the classroom teacher, provide academic supports to improve children’s achievement of individual academic and behavioral goals in support of children’s IEP goals
-Provide clerical support to teachers which may include, but is not limited to, creating photocopies, preparing materials, etc.
-Communicate regularly with classroom teacher and parents regarding student’s needs and progress
-Assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, and assignments
-Regularly observe students and take anecdotal notes to inform planning in the arrangement of small groups, classroom setup, integrations of students’ interests in learning activities, and subsequent assessments
-Maintain confidentiality and treat all information about children and their families in strict confidence
-Create and deliver interventions in small groups, track student progress, execute RTI program
-Attend all faculty and professional development meetings
-Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with parents
