The Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical, clinical, and communication functions on assigned nursing unit. She/he provides courteous reception on the different nursing units and arranges and coordinates activities for patient care. Minimum Education:High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience Completion of a EKG or Rhythm interpretation course Minimum Experience/Knowledge:Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferred Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.Knowledge of medical terminology.Data entry computer skillsRequired License/Certification:Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association. ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire EKG course required.
