About KARL STORZ

From the operating room to surgery centers-and everywhere in between-KARL STORZ North America is a global leader in medical technology and advanced visualization solutions. We design specialty innovations, smart instruments and devices, integrated ecosystems, and intelligent imaging-to build a more connected, software-enabled operating room.

As an independent, family-owned MedTech company, we ambitiously think in generations instead of quarters to improve patients’ lives around the world.

Lead Technology. Shape Transformation. Improve Healthcare.

Technology is redefining healthcare-and at KARL STORZ, it is central to how we innovate, serve customers, and improve patient outcomes around the world.

We are seeking an exceptional technology executive to lead Information Technology across North America during an exciting period of business growth, digital transformation, and global collaboration.

As Vice President, Information Technology – North America, you will be the senior technology leader responsible for shaping the region’s technology strategy while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership across North America and our global headquarters in Germany. Your mandate is broad: align technology investments to business strategy, modernize enterprise capabilities, strengthen cybersecurity, enable operational excellence, and build an IT organization that accelerates innovation across the business.

This role demands both strategic vision and operational excellence. You’ll lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, influence global technology decisions, and partner with senior leaders across commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, regulatory, and corporate functions to ensure technology becomes an even greater competitive advantage.

For an executive who enjoys solving complex business challenges, leading through influence, and building high-performing organizations, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on one of the world’s most respected medical technology companies.

This role is based at our North American headquarters in El Segundo, California, with a hybrid work schedule (three days in the office, two remote). Domestic and international travel is required.

What You’ll Lead

As Vice President, you will establish the strategic direction for Information Technology across North America while ensuring strong alignment with KARL STORZ’s global technology vision.

Your leadership will include:

  • Developing and executing the North American IT strategy and multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives that modernize platforms, improve business capabilities, and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Partnering with executive leadership to identify opportunities where technology can accelerate growth, improve customer experience, increase operational efficiency, and support long-term business strategy.
  • Driving standardization and harmonization of enterprise systems and processes in partnership with global IT leadership.
  • Building resilient, secure, and scalable technology environments across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and end-user services.
  • Championing cybersecurity, Zero Trust principles, and secure-by-design practices across the technology ecosystem.
  • Overseeing strategic technology investments, portfolio governance, vendor partnerships, and enterprise IT operations.
  • Developing an engaged, high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serving as the critical technology liaison between North America and global headquarters, ensuring transparency, alignment, and successful execution across regions.

The Executive We’re Looking For

You are a transformational technology leader who understands that great IT organizations are measured by the business outcomes they enable-not simply the systems they operate.

You bring a balance of strategic thinking, operational discipline, executive presence, and authentic leadership. You know how to inspire teams through change while building credibility with executives, business partners, and global stakeholders.

You likely bring

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership across enterprise technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and digital transformation.
  • Significant executive experience leading large, multi-disciplinary IT organizations and developing high-performing leadership teams.
  • A proven record of delivering complex enterprise transformation programs with meaningful business impact.
  • Experience leading technology organizations within large, global, matrixed environments.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, IT governance, and modern operating models.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including ownership of significant technology portfolios and budgets.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence executives across functions, cultures, and geographies.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred).

What Sets You Apart

The leaders who thrive at KARL STORZ are intellectually curious, business-minded, and motivated by solving meaningful challenges.

You excel because you:

  • Think strategically while remaining deeply connected to execution.
  • Build trust quickly and influence through credibility rather than authority.
  • Lead confidently through ambiguity and organizational change.
  • Develop exceptional teams and create environments where leaders thrive.
  • Balance innovation with thoughtful governance, cybersecurity, and operational excellence.
  • See technology as a catalyst for business transformation-not simply a function to support it.

Most importantly, you’re energized by the opportunity to help shape the future of healthcare through technology.

Why KARL STORZ?

Join KARL STORZ and be part of a team creating medical innovations that truly make a difference. Beyond technology, you’ll be part of a culture that values talent as its greatest asset, empowering you to contribute to a mission that improves patient care worldwide.
