The Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering is seeking a Budget Business Analyst to provide administrative support to the Research Administration team.  The core job duties are: Helps with account set up, reconciling account balances, processes budget adjustments, generates projections and prepares monthly budget analysis reports.  Researches problems, corrects errors, ensures adherence to agency restrictions and advises the faculty on remaining time of project periods and balances to assure that extension on research projects are requested in a timely manner. Coordinates purchasing activities, interacts with vendors, pays invoices, prepares and processes departmental orders, check requests, requisitions, procard, travel card, honorarium and consultant transactions.  Makes travel arrangements and processes reimbursements. Assists in the coordination of the research group??s events such as conferences, seminars and data collection. Additional duties as needed. Additional Information:  This is a hybrid position. The Budget/Business Analyst will be expected to work fully onsite for the first three months of employment, and will subsequently be eligible to work 3 dates onsite, with 2 days of remote flexibility. This position is not eligible for fully remote work.  The hourly rate range for this position is $34.43 – $38.64.  When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidate??s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.  Preferred Education :   Bachelor??s Degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum         education Preferred Experience : Two years of accounting and budget experience including knowledge of Government and fund accounting.
