Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Material Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.

Essential Functions:
Participates in the review of electronic assembly designs and drawings to internal, customer, and industry requirements. Develop qualification test plans for new materials and processes for space applications. Support failure analysis and evaluate manufacturing discrepancies for components, circuit card assemblies, slices, and units. Review and implement processes to comply with internal and industry workmanship requirements for high reliability space hardware. Collaborates closely with Subject Matter Experts, suppliers, procurement, design, analysis, manufacturing, quality and integration engineers, as well as functional management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 2 years of engineering experience ; OR Master’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 0 years of engineering experience.
  • Familiarity in parts, materials and process selection, manufacturing support, failure analysis or processing of materials for space hardware
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Clearance or SCI access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access

Salary Range: $74,900 USD – $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
