Description
Join our team as an Entry-Level Scaffold Builder and begin a career supporting industrial construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects. You’ll work alongside experienced scaffold builders to assemble, modify, and dismantle scaffolding systems used in refineries, power plants, construction sites, shipyards, and industrial facilities while learning safe access and structural support practices.
Key Responsibilities
Scaffold Installation and Maintenance:
· Assist with assembling, modifying, and dismantling scaffold systems and temporary work platforms.
· Load, transport, and organize scaffold materials, pipes, planks, braces, and tools on job sites.
· Operate hand tools, impact tools, levels, and lifting equipment safely.
· Support crews with erecting scaffold structures for industrial, commercial, and maintenance projects.
· Inspect scaffold components for damage, defects, and safe operation before use.
· Assist with securing platforms, guardrails, ladders, and access systems.
Safety and Compliance:
· Attend daily safety meetings and follow OSHA and site-specific safety procedures.
· Wear required PPE including hard hats, gloves, harnesses, eye protection, and steel-toe boots.
· Follow fall protection, confined space, and elevated work safety procedures.
· Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure safe operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Track scaffold materials and equipment inventory.
· Report damaged scaffold components, safety concerns, or hazards promptly.
· Assist supervisors with inspection records and project documentation.
Work Environment and Expectations
This position requires physically demanding outdoor work in industrial and construction environments. Scaffold builders frequently work at elevated heights, climb ladders and structures, carry heavy materials, and work in varying weather conditions. Travel, overtime, shutdown work, and weekend schedules may be required depending on project demands.
Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
· Comfortable working at elevated heights and climbing regularly.
· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Willingness to learn scaffold assembly methods and industrial safety procedures.
· Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.
Job Type: Full-time; Benefits: Health insurance, paid apprenticeship training, overtime opportunities, travel pay, per diem opportunities, retirement plans, and advancement into skilled industrial trades; Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime, shutdown schedules, travel assignments, nights, and weekends as required.
