Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Attractions Tour Guide to join our team at the legendary and historical Queen Mary. The Attractions Tour Guide is responsible for being a historical resource for our guests while providing entertaining and engaging tours covering varying topics. We expect the highest level of service possible presented in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal Attractions Tour Guide will have previous experience as a tour guide, entertainer, or attractions host or hostess and have a passion for the Queen Mary and her history.
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain the ship’s historical and technical information.
  • Ability to move throughout the Queen Mary (standing/walking) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and directly with guests while using a positive clear-speaking voice. Public Speaking or theatrical experience is a plus!
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintaining up-to-date working and historical knowledge of the Queen Mary.
    • Learning and being able to present/perform the script for all tours.
    • Opening and closing Attractions areas.
    • Greeting passengers in a warm and friendly manner. Always being present for the guests.
    • Fulfilling attraction attendant duties when not leading tours.
    • Answering questions about the Queen Mary, tours, and guided tours.
    • Interacting with crew members professionally and providing other departments with necessary information.
    • Performing attraction attendant duties when not conducting tours
    • Maintaining an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as special events.
